Nkomati Nickel Mine

The Nkomati Nickel Mine is a partnership between African Rainbow Minerals Limited and Norilsk Nickel (Proprietary) Limited. Nkomati was established in 1997 and is South Africa’s only primary nickel mine engaged in a polymetallic deposit comprising nickel, copper, chrome and PGMs. The mine is situated between Machadodorp and Badplaas on the Uitkomst geological Complex in the Mpumalanga Lowveld.

The Lefa Gold mine project is some 700km north east of Conakry, the capital of the Republic of Guinea. Commercial production began at the Lefa mine in 2008. The mine was acquired by Nordgold in July 2010, as part of the Crew Gold acquisition. Lefa mine operates a typical modern open pit operation with three major mining areas and several smaller, higher grade satellites pits, which will provide supplementary feed for the mill over the life of the project. Khutala

The Khutala Colliery is one of the largest underground coal mines in the world. The mine which produces thermal coal is owned by South32 and is located at Emalahleni, in the Mpumalanga Province. The operation is a combination of both open-cut and underground mines with the coal being transported via overland conveyor to Eskom’s Kendal Power station. Moolmans contract scope includes drilling and blasting, haulage of coal and waste, and rehandling operations

Karowe

The mine is called “Karowe” which means precious stone in the local language. The diamond mine located in Botswana, is owned by Lucara Diamond through its subsidiary Boteti Mining. The mine was completed in 2012 on time and within a budget. It is a state-of-the-art operation comprising an open pit mine, crushers, AG mill and a XRT, DMS and XRF recovery plant. The single open-pit is mined using conventional drill and blast methods, with truck and shovel operations.

The Tshipi Borwa mine is owned by Tshipi é Ntle Manganese Mining, an empowerment company in which Jupiter Mines has a 49.9% stake. The Tshipi Borwa Project is located on the south western outer rim of the Kalahari, 40 km north east of Kathu. The Kalahari Manganese Field contains around 80% of the world's known high-grade manganese ore reserves.

Postmasburg is a small town in the Northern Cape, about 80km South West of our Sishen project. Kolomela mine is part of Anglo American’s Sishen Iron Ore Company. The life expectancy of the mine is 28 years, with a 9 Mtpa delivery of iron ore. Currently there are 3 pits of which Aveng Moolmans mines at the Klipbankfontein pit.

Sishen Iron Ore Mine

The Sishen Iron Ore Mine is situated 49 kilometres west of Kuruman in the Northern Cape. The contract commenced in April 2006 and runs until December 2017. The contract scope includes removal of 50 million tons of waste material per annum.
