Aveng Moolmans was awarded with a Plant Hire Contract on this mine in October 2011. Growth from 14 to 23 pieces of mining equipment occurred with the owning and operating of 18 100tn rigid dump trucks, 2 water bowsers, 2 dozers and a grader.

Our client was First Quantum Minerals Ltd, an established and growing mining and metals company.

We employed just over 160 Zambians and 4 expatriates. We believe the key to our success on this project was the working relationships forged at all levels of the project and across all departments. The knowledge, skills and experience of each individual was only best unlocked through creating and fostering a trust-based high performance focused environment. The primary services offered by Aveng Moolmans Kansanshi were the hauling of waste material, transfer of ore to the ROM pad, re-handling of stockpiles and additional day works projects.

Aveng Moolmans Kansanshi’s effective safety, plant maintenance and operating procedures coupled with the commitment, passion and team work of our people enabled us to add value to our client’s operations and entrench ourselves as the contract miner of choice in Africa.
